Originally designed in 1931 for British polo players serving in the Army in the Indian colonies, the Reverso watch quickly rose to the rank of a watchmaking icon, captivating admirers far beyond the polo fields. As early as 1931, a ladies’ model embraced this reversible Art Deco-inspired case concept, paving the way for an entire world of aesthetic creativity — a realm where timepieces became true jewels in their own right...

Since its creation, through its various iterations, the Reverso has remained versatile yet unique. Today, it continues to be the signature model of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture, one of the most renowned in the world for the quality, precision, and style of its timepieces.

Getting Acquainted

Inspired by late-1930s Reverso models, the Reverso Classic embodies the traditional lines of this iconic rectangular watch. Its “Large” case (45.6 × 27.4 mm) features the three signature gadroons, while the inner part of the carriage is decorated with perlage, recalling the refined finishes of its movement and lending it a distinctly sophisticated aesthetic. On the dial side, it displays a dual finish (guilloché and vertical brushing) in a beautiful silvery white tone, with the original 12 Arabic numerals and the iconic sword-shaped hands, giving this Reverso Classic a timeless design.

Finally, on the mechanical side, it houses the hand-wound JLC Caliber 822, with a remarkably slim thickness of just 2.94 mm. This movement delivers a power reserve of 42 hours.

The Package

This Reverso Classic is presented in excellent condition, having benefited from a meticulous polishing of its case and buckle carried out by our workshop, as well as a full inspection and a water-resistance test.

It comes fitted with a slightly marked crocodile leather strap and will be delivered as a Full Set, with its original box, manual, and warranty card dated 2020. Like all the pieces in our Lepage Vintage selection, it is accompanied by our one-year warranty.
