The first Portofino Perpetual Calendar in stainless steel

The Portofino Perpetual Calendar IW344601 introduces one of IWC Schaffhausen's most iconic complications into its most elegant collection. It is the first Portofino Perpetual Calendar housed in a stainless steel case and, at 40 mm, the smallest perpetual calendar in the brand's current collection. It perfectly combines timeless proportions with one of fine watchmaking's most sophisticated mechanical complications.

A refined silver-plated dial

The elegant silver-plated dial is enhanced by gold-tone hands and appliques, creating a warm and refined contrast. The perpetual calendar indications are displayed on three subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, while the solid gold moon phase display at 12 o'clock adds a poetic dimension. Thanks to a highly precise reduction gear train, the moon phase will deviate by only one day after 577.5 years.

The legendary perpetual calendar by Kurt Klaus

Originally developed during the 1980s by former IWC master watchmaker Kurt Klaus, the perpetual calendar automatically recognises the different lengths of the months as well as leap years and requires no manual correction until the year 2100. Remarkably, all calendar indications remain synchronised and can be adjusted exclusively via the crown, making it one of the most user-friendly perpetual calendars ever created.

The IWC manufacture calibre 82650

Powering the watch is the IWC-manufactured calibre 82650. Equipped with the renowned Pellaton winding system reinforced by highly wear-resistant ceramic components, this automatic movement delivers a 60-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, it showcases refined finishing and the exceptional engineering for which IWC Schaffhausen is renowned.
