With the Presage Classic Series HCC008J1, Seiko pays tribute to one of Japan's greatest artisanal treasures: Tomioka silk. Produced in the region surrounding the renowned Tomioka Silk Mill, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this exceptional silk is celebrated for its remarkable fineness, purity and natural lustre. Created in partnership with the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization, this limited edition of just 2,000 pieces worldwide also contributes to preserving this unique heritage, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the organisation's conservation efforts.

A dial inspired by Gunma Hoso silk

The dial of this Presage takes its inspiration from Gunma Hoso, a premium silk produced in Japan's Gunma Prefecture. Its finely textured surface recalls the graceful drape of luxurious fabric, while its pearlescent finish recreates the delicate shimmer of silk as it catches the light. Presented in the Shironeri shade—the pure white colour of silk before dyeing—the dial exudes understated elegance. The rose gold-coloured case adds warmth and sophistication, while the brown leather strap echoes the distinctive red-brick architecture of the historic Tomioka Silk Mill.

The in-house Calibre 6R51

Powering this limited edition is Seiko's in-house automatic Calibre 6R51. Designed and manufactured entirely by Seiko, the movement delivers an impressive power reserve of approximately 72 hours and features a stop-seconds function for precise time setting. Visible through the screw-down transparent case back, the movement showcases Seiko's mechanical watchmaking expertise, while the case back is engraved with the words "Limited Edition" and the individual serial number of each watch.

Featuring a 38 mm case, a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 10 bar (100 metres) of water resistance and a refined leather strap, the Presage HCC008J1 combines elegance, comfort and exclusivity.
