Chopard
For Chopard, luxury is written with sincerity, emotion and commitment. Since 1860, the independent Maison has combined jewellery elegance with Swiss watchmaking precision in creations where ethics transcend aesthetics. Happy Diamonds, Ice Cube, Alpine Eagle and Mille Miglia are just some of the icons that express a free, sustainable and luminous style. At Chopard, every piece of jewellery and every watch embodies a look... and a conviction.
The history of Chopard
Founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in Sonvilier, the company first made a name for itself with its precise and refined pocket watches. Taken over in 1963 by Karl Scheufele III, a German watchmaker and jeweller, Chopard entered a new era, combining fine watchmaking with creative jewellery. In 1976, the iconic Happy Diamonds collection was born, followed in 1993 by the Happy Sport watch, a unique combination of steel and moving diamonds. In 1996, Chopard began developing its own movements at its Fleurier manufacture, affirming its technical independence. Committed to ethical luxury since 2013, the company now uses only responsible gold. Still family-owned and run by Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard embodies generous, free and sustainable elegance.
WATCHMAKING AND CHOPARD
Chopard has created three iconic watch collections, each with its own strong and distinct identity: Alpine Eagle, Happy Sport and Mille Miglia. Focus on these collections that embody the brand's watchmaking excellence.

Everything you need to know about Chopard
The history of Chopard began in 1860 in Sonvilier, in the Swiss Jura, when Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his watchmaking workshop. The Maison quickly distinguished itself through the precision of its pocket watches and chronometers. Acquired by Karl Scheufele III in 1963, Chopard gradually united two exceptional fields of expertise: Swiss fine watchmaking and luxury jewellery. Still independent and family-owned, the Maison now develops its creations around craftsmanship, innovation and a long-term commitment to more responsible luxury.
Choosing a Chopard creation means selecting a Maison that has mastered both watchmaking and jewellery craftsmanship. Chopard watches combine high-performance mechanical movements, distinctive designs and refined finishes, while Chopard jewellery celebrates light, colour and movement. Each creation expresses a generous vision of luxury shaped by emotion, creativity and exceptional materials.
Chopard’s principal watch collections include the Chopard Alpine Eagle, a contemporary sport-chic watch inspired by the Alps, the Chopard Happy Sport, renowned for its moving diamonds, and the Chopard Mille Miglia, directly inspired by the world of classic motor racing. The L.U.C collection embodies the Maison’s vision of Haute Horlogerie through sophisticated mechanical movements and exceptional finishing.
Chopard’s most emblematic jewellery collections include Happy Diamonds, instantly recognisable by its freely moving diamonds, Happy Hearts, which combines the heart motif with diamonds and colourful ornamental stones, and Ice Cube, defined by its graphic and contemporary geometry. These collections are available as rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and earrings.
Chopard watches and jewellery are created within the Maison’s specialised Swiss workshops. Its watchmaking activities are notably divided between Geneva and Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, established in 1996 to develop the Maison’s mechanical movements. Its jewellery creations are brought to life by artisans specialising in goldsmithing, gem-setting, polishing and the delicate construction of moving-diamond settings. This integrated organisation enables Chopard to oversee a significant part of its creative and manufacturing processes.
The Chopard Alpine Eagle is a contemporary sport-chic watch inspired by the strength of the eagle and the beauty of the Alpine landscape. It is recognisable by its bezel punctuated with screws, integrated bracelet and textured dial evoking the iris of an eagle. Steel models are crafted from Lucent Steel™, an exclusive Chopard alloy designed to combine resistance, luminosity and a recycling rate of at least 80%.
Created in 1993 by Caroline Scheufele, the Chopard Happy Sport became an icon by combining steel and moving diamonds in a watch for the first time. Free to move between two sapphire crystals, the diamonds dance with every movement of the wrist. Available with quartz or automatic movements and in a variety of sizes and materials, the Happy Sport lies at the meeting point between fine watchmaking and jewellery.
Since 1988, Chopard has been a partner and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, the celebrated Italian race reserved for classic cars. The Chopard Mille Miglia collection expresses this automotive universe through chronographs featuring dashboard-inspired dials, racing details and straps recalling classic car tyres or driving gloves. It is designed for enthusiasts of mechanical engineering, vintage design and motor racing.
The Chopard L.U.C collection represents the most accomplished expression of the Maison’s watchmaking expertise. Its initials pay tribute to Chopard’s founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard. L.U.C watches are powered by movements designed, developed and assembled by Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier and Geneva. Depending on the model, these calibres may be certified by the COSC, bear the prestigious Poinçon de Genève or satisfy the demanding criteria of the Fleurier Quality Foundation.
Since 1976, Chopard Happy Diamonds creations have allowed diamonds to move freely between two sapphire crystals. Each stone is set within a delicate gold capsule that enables it to rotate, glide and capture the light with every movement. This joyful choreography transforms the diamond into a living element and has become one of Chopard’s most recognisable signatures in both jewellery and watchmaking.
The Chopard Happy Hearts collection celebrates love, generosity and joie de vivre through the Maison’s emblematic heart motif. Its creations often combine a heart crafted from gold or a colourful ornamental stone with a smaller heart containing a moving diamond. Mother-of-pearl, onyx, malachite, carnelian and turquoise allow each ring, bracelet, necklace or pair of earrings to express a distinctive personality.
Created in 1999, the Chopard Ice Cube collection explores the geometry of the cube through graphic, refined and luminous jewellery. Its precisely defined facets capture the light while creating a contemporary, urban aesthetic. Crafted from 750/1000 yellow, white or rose gold, with or without diamonds, Ice Cube jewellery can be worn individually, combined or stacked to create a personalised composition.
Chopard incorporates more responsible sourcing principles into the selection of its precious materials. Since July 2018, the Maison has exclusively used gold sourced through responsible supply chains for its watch and jewellery creations. Lucent Steel™, used across the Alpine Eagle collection and other steel watches, is produced with a recycling rate of at least 80% while retaining the resistance, brilliance and technical qualities required for fine watchmaking.
A new Chopard watch or piece of jewellery is covered by a two-year international warranty against manufacturing defects, in accordance with the Maison’s conditions. Eligible creations may benefit from a complimentary extension to a total of five years after being registered through Chopard’s dedicated warranty extension service.
As an authorised Chopard retailer, Lepage guarantees the authenticity of every creation and the application of the Maison’s international warranty.
