Everything you need to know about Hublot watches
The history of Hublot began in 1980 under the vision of Italian entrepreneur Carlo Crocco. From its very first creation, the Maison challenged traditional watchmaking conventions by combining a precious gold case with a natural rubber strap, an unprecedented alliance in luxury watchmaking at the time. This bold vision gave rise to the “Art of Fusion”, the founding philosophy that continues to guide the creations developed at the Hublot Manufacture in Nyon, Switzerland.
Choosing a Hublot watch means choosing a Swiss timepiece with a powerful and instantly recognisable design. The Maison stands out for its avant-garde approach to materials, architectural cases, frequently openworked dials and in-house movements. Titanium, coloured ceramic, carbon, sapphire, gold and rubber are combined to create watches that are simultaneously sporty, technical and resolutely contemporary.
Hublot’s principal collections include the Big Bang, the Maison’s sporting and technical icon, and the Classic Fusion, distinguished by its more refined lines. The Spirit of Big Bang features a tonneau-shaped case, while the Square Bang expresses Hublot’s identity through a bold square architecture. These collections include automatic watches, chronographs, tourbillons and high-jewellery creations.
The Hublot Art of Fusion brings together materials, techniques and creative worlds that initially appear to be opposites. Introduced in 1980 through the revolutionary combination of gold and natural rubber, this philosophy is now expressed through innovative associations of titanium, ceramic, carbon, sapphire, gold and technical textiles. It also represents the encounter between watchmaking tradition and industrial innovation, contemporary design and in-house mechanical movements.
Introduced in 2005, the Hublot Big Bang established a new vision of the luxury sports watch through its multi-layered case, visible screws, bold material combinations and spectacular design. The collection notably includes the Big Bang Original, Unico and Meca-10 lines. Several models are powered by the in-house Unico calibre, an integrated self-winding chronograph movement that showcases the technical expertise of the Hublot Manufacture.
The Hublot Big Bang embraces a bold, technical and imposing sporting aesthetic, with a complex construction and frequently openworked dials. The Hublot Classic Fusion revisits the Maison’s founding codes through a slimmer, more understated and versatile silhouette. The Big Bang will appeal to those seeking an expressive and innovative watch, while the Classic Fusion offers a more refined and discreet interpretation of the Art of Fusion.
The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang is distinguished by its dynamic tonneau-shaped case and dials that extensively reveal the mechanical movement. The Hublot Square Bang adopts a more radical square geometry while retaining the visible screws, rubber strap and multi-layered construction associated with the Maison. The Spirit of Big Bang offers a curved and sporty silhouette, while the Square Bang asserts a more architectural and avant-garde character.
