Celebrating OMEGA's 90 years as timekeeper of the Olympic Games, the Speedmaster 38 “Milano Cortina 2026” embodies the spirit of performance in a polished steel and blue ceramic case. A frosted, elegant, and precise chronograph, it pays tribute to winter and the passion for mastering time.
OMEGA and the Olympic Games: 90 Years of History and Precision
Since 1932, OMEGA has marked the most decisive seconds in sporting history. From Los Angeles to Cortina d’Ampezzo, from ski slopes to Olympic stadiums, the Biel-based manufacture has become the official timekeeper of the Games — the guardian of time measurement in its purest form: human performance.
In 2026, at the upcoming Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, OMEGA will take on this mission for the 32nd time, celebrating nine decades of an unbroken partnership with the Olympic Movement.
In this spirit, OMEGA unveils a new creation that embodies both its sporting heritage and Swiss watchmaking excellence: the Speedmaster 38 mm “Milano Cortina 2026” – reference 522.30.38.50.04.001.
A compact, refined, and precise chronograph, conceived as a tribute to winter and to the fleeting nature of time. Its glossy white lacquered dial with an icy blue frost effect, accented by blue details reminiscent of snow-capped peaks, instantly captures the Olympic spirit — discipline, beauty, and the pursuit of perfection.
Capturing Winter
Beneath its apparent simplicity, the Speedmaster 38 mm Milano Cortina 2026 reveals a world of textures and details in homage to the Winter Games.
Fully polished, the stainless-steel case catches the light like snow under the Alpine sun, while the blue ceramic bezel is adorned with a white enamel tachymeter scale featuring the legendary “Dot Over Ninety.” This nod to historic Speedmasters reinforces its lineage while introducing a fresh, modern edge.
The white varnished dial is the true stage of this wintry composition. Coated with a light blue frost finish, it mirrors the shimmer of ice. A subtle fingerprint trace runs across the surface, forming the number “2” from the official Games emblem — a discreet, almost intimate reminder of the human touch in the pursuit of performance.
The round sub-dials, varnished and finely azuraged, evoke freshly groomed ski tracks; their soft relief plays with light in elegant motion.
The applied hands and hour markers, coated in blue, match the bezel perfectly, while their green-emission Super-LumiNova ensures optimal legibility even in the dim glow of a winter evening. The central chronograph hand, fading from deep blue to icy blue, echoes the Italian mountain ranges. At six o’clock, connoisseurs will appreciate the thoughtful detail of the date window: the “26” appears in the official Milano Cortina 2026 typography, printed in dark blue as a tribute to the Games’ opening date.
An essential part of the design, the “Nixon-style” stainless-steel bracelet takes its cue from the 2021 Moonwatch. Its short, rounded links — alternating polished and satin finishes — reflect light softly and provide remarkable comfort on the wrist.
The slim push-button folding clasp integrates a patented micro-adjustment system that allows a 2 mm extension on demand — a welcome feature for adapting to any situation, from everyday wear to slipping under a ski glove. Both elegant and technical, this bracelet completes the perfect balance between sportiness, comfort, and refinement.
The result is a pure and harmonious aesthetic, where the rigour of the Speedmaster chronograph meets the poetry of the Winter Games. A watch that doesn’t aim to measure an athlete’s speed, but to capture an instant of emotion — that moment when sport and time become one.
The Co-Axial Calibre 3330
Beneath its solid caseback stamped with the Milano Cortina 2026 logo, the Speedmaster houses a movement worthy of the occasion: the OMEGA calibre 3330. Built to the brand’s highest standards, this self-winding chronograph movement combines durability, precision, and refined engineering.
Equipped with a column-wheel mechanism, it delivers exceptionally smooth chronograph operation — each press of the pusher produces a crisp, controlled click, like the timekeeper halting the clock at the millisecond. Its Co-Axial escapement, a signature OMEGA innovation, minimizes friction and ensures lasting stability over time.
The Si14 silicon balance spring, resistant to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations, completes this modern construction. Thanks to its architecture, the movement offers a 52-hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification, ensuring accuracy between –4 and +6 seconds per day.
This movement, a direct descendant of the great Speedmaster calibres, places the Milano Cortina 2026 firmly within the lineage of the most reliable Swiss chronographs. Unlike the manually wound Moonwatch calibre, it recharges automatically with each motion of the wrist — a discreet feat that fuses the spirit of performance with the simplicity of everyday wear.
Presentation Box & Special Edition
To mark such a momentous event, the Speedmaster 38 mm Milano Cortina 2026 comes presented in a commemorative white box. It proudly features the red and black emblems of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games alongside the OMEGA logo.
This is a special — yet non-limited — edition, a nuance that makes it even more desirable. We love OMEGA’s decision to choose, for this second “Milano Cortina” interpretation, the Speedmaster 38 following the Seamaster Heritage Classic 37 mm ref. 522.53.37.20.04.001 — itself a tribute to the legendary 1956 reference 2850.
Here, the brand takes a more contemporary approach, building upon the recently updated Speedmaster 38 to give it a brand-new face.
OMEGA didn’t simply play with colours: the brand reworked the model’s most defining features. The addition of a blue ceramic bezel, a white enamel tachymeter scale, and this new Nixon-style bracelet inspired by the Moonwatch completely transforms the wearing experience.
The result is a Speedmaster 38 “Milano Cortina 2026” with greater presence, balance, and visual impact — closer than ever to the spirit of a true Moonwatch, yet retaining its more compact 38 mm proportions.
