The TH20-09 Tourbillon Movement: Power and Extreme Precision

The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport F1® 75th Anniversary is powered by the in-house calibre TH20-09 — an integrated automatic chronograph movement featuring a flying tourbillon visible at 6 o’clock.
This next-generation calibre showcases TAG Heuer’s technical mastery in the design of high-precision chronographs.

The architecture is built around a vertical clutch coupled with a column wheel, ensuring smooth, instantaneous activation of the chronograph functions.
The movement delivers a 65-hour power reserve thanks to an optimized barrel and a bidirectional automatic winding system.
Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it guarantees remarkable stability and precise timekeeping down to a tenth of a second.

The flying tourbillon, positioned in the lower part of the dial, completes a full rotation every 60 seconds and functions as a mechanical regulator, compensating for the effects of gravity on the balance assembly.

The movement is assembled and adjusted at TAG Heuer’s La Chaux-de-Fonds manufacture and is tested to meet the demanding standards of professional timekeeping. It is COSC-certified!

The round pushers and crown, made of grade 5 black DLC-coated titanium, contrast elegantly with the case while providing optimal grip.

The openworked dial showcases the mechanics of the TH20-09 calibre while preserving outstanding readability.
The black azurage-finished subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock balance the composition around the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, while the black flange carries a detailed 60-second scale.
Rhodium-plated hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova® ensure perfect visibility in all lighting conditions.
Golden accents — chronograph hands, applied TAG Heuer logo, and dial details — lend the watch a powerful visual presence that is both luxurious and sporty.
