The watchmaking history of CHANEL began in 1987 with the creation of the PREMIÈRE, the first watch designed by the Maison. Its octagonal case draws inspiration from both the stopper of the N°5 fragrance bottle and the geometry of Place Vendôme. In 2000, CHANEL opened a new chapter with the J12, a sports watch crafted from highly resistant ceramic that has become an icon of contemporary watchmaking. Since then, the Maison has combined the codes established by Gabrielle Chanel with the expertise of its Swiss Manufacture.

Choosing a CHANEL watch means choosing a timepiece with an instantly recognisable identity. The Maison incorporates its emblematic codes into its watches: black and white, quilted patterns, leather-interwoven chains, the lines of Place Vendôme and the balance between masculine and feminine influences. Created in 2000, the CHANEL J12 watch introduced a new vision of the luxury sports watch. Inspired by the racing yachts of the J Class, it combines a graphic silhouette with black or white highly resistant ceramic. Available with quartz or automatic movements, the J12 is admired for its unisex character, excellent resistance to scratches and timeless aesthetic.

The CHANEL PREMIÈRE watch is distinguished by its octagonal case, inspired by the stopper of the N°5 fragrance bottle and the outline of Place Vendôme. Its deliberately minimalist dial, generally free from numerals and hour markers, focuses on the essentials. Depending on the version, its bracelet may feature the leather-interwoven chain of the CHANEL quilted handbag, transforming this watch into a genuine piece of wrist jewellery.

CHANEL watches are developed and assembled in Switzerland at the Maison’s Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Each creation is imagined by the CHANEL Watch Creation Studio before being brought to life through the expertise of watchmakers, technicians and specialised artisans. The Maison therefore combines Parisian creative freedom with the exacting standards of Swiss watchmaking tradition.

Every CHANEL watch or watchmaking creation purchased from October 2022 onwards is covered by a five-year international CHANEL warranty from the date of purchase. In accordance with the conditions established by the Maison, this warranty covers the repair or replacement of components required for the watch to function correctly under normal use.
