- Limited edition
Born from a collaboration between Frédérique Constant and the Watch Angels collector community, this Worldtimer Manufacture reimagines an iconic model with a more legible, more compact, and equally intuitive design. A modern travel watch, designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, produced in a limited edition of 718 pieces.
A manufacture Worldtimer that has become a benchmark since 2012
Launched in 2012, the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture quickly established itself as one of Frédérique Constant’s most emblematic models. By offering a complication historically reserved for high watchmaking in a more accessible segment, the Geneva-based Maison succeeded in democratizing the Worldtimer function without compromising mechanical quality.
Over the years, this watch has become a true pillar of the Manufacture collection, available in several versions and regularly released as limited editions. It perfectly embodies the brand’s philosophy: making useful, legible and accessible watchmaking complications while maintaining a high level of finishing.
Designed to accompany contemporary travelers, the Worldtimer Manufacture allows the time to be read simultaneously in the world’s major cities, while retaining a classic elegance suited to everyday wear.
A collaboration with Watch Angels, designed by enthusiasts
With this edition, Frédérique Constant takes an unprecedented step by partnering with Watch Angels, a collaborative platform bringing together collectors and watch enthusiasts. Together, they reimagined the Worldtimer Manufacture based directly on market expectations and feedback from knowledgeable enthusiasts.
This type of collaboration remains extremely rare in the watch industry, where designs are traditionally developed in-house. Here, the brand chose to thoroughly revisit one of its flagship models to offer a more contemporary interpretation aligned with current uses and preferences.
The result is a watch designed “by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts”, preserving the DNA of the Worldtimer while incorporating relevant evolutions in terms of design, proportions and legibility.
A redesigned dial for enhanced legibility and elegance
One of the major evolutions of this version lies in the work carried out on the dial. Completely redesigned, it features a multi-level construction that improves both legibility and the perception of depth.
The slightly angled city disc naturally draws the eye and facilitates the reading of time zones. The removal of the date, historically positioned at 6 o’clock, frees up space and creates a more balanced composition focused on the main function.
The center of the dial, often finished with a sunburst effect, contrasts with the different peripheral scales, while applied indexes and polished hands enhance readability. The result is a cleaner, more contemporary dial, without compromising the classic elegance of the collection.
The case itself has also evolved, with sharper lines and an alternation of polished and brushed finishes, offering a look that is both dynamic and sophisticated.
An intuitive and practical Worldtimer complication
At the heart of this watch lies the Worldtimer function, allowing the time to be read across 24 time zones worldwide. Thanks to a city disc combined with a 24-hour scale, the wearer can instantly know the time in the world’s major cities.
The operation is simple and highly intuitive: simply position the reference city at 12 o’clock for all indications to synchronize automatically. A quick glance at the dial then allows the local time as well as other time zones to be read.
The day/night indication, displayed via a separate 24-hour disc, makes it easy to distinguish between daytime and nighttime periods, further enhancing legibility.
This complication, historically complex to use, is here made accessible and fluid, true to Frédérique Constant’s pragmatic approach.
An in-house FC-718 movement
This Worldtimer is powered by the in-house automatic FC-718 calibre, developed and assembled internally by Frédérique Constant. The true technical heart of the watch, this movement has been designed to integrate the Worldtimer function while ensuring simple and reliable operation.
Comprising 139 components and featuring 26 jewels, it beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
One of its key strengths lies in its adjustment system: all functions — hours, minutes and time zones — can be set directly via the crown, without additional pushers. A rare feature in the world of Worldtimers, significantly enhancing ease of use.
Visible through a transparent caseback, the movement reveals traditional finishes such as Geneva stripes, perlage and blued screws, adding an extra aesthetic dimension to the watch.
A limited edition designed for enthusiasts
Produced in only 718 pieces, this Worldtimer Manufacture follows a logic of controlled rarity. This number is no coincidence: it directly references the FC-718 calibre powering the watch, reinforcing the model’s overall coherence.
Initially offered through a subscription system via the Watch Angels community, this limited edition holds a unique position, halfway between a collaborative project and a collector’s piece.
It is aimed at discerning enthusiasts, sensitive both to the technical dimension of the watch, its redesigned aesthetics and its collaborative origin. A timepiece that not only displays world time, but also tells a new story about how watchmaking can be conceived.
