The Story

Unlike the famous Tank, the Panthère is sometimes less widely known, yet it remains one of Cartier’s most iconic creations. First introduced in 1983, at the height of the opulence of the 1980s, the Panthère was immediately acclaimed for its clean design, concealed clasp and distinctive link bracelet. This bracelet was specifically designed so the watch could also be worn like a piece of jewelry, combining beauty and functionality while wrapping elegantly around the wrist.

In 1984, Cartier introduced a two-tone version in steel and yellow gold, followed in 1991 by a full stainless steel model. Since then, Cartier has continually reinterpreted the Panthère across the decades with mini versions, pixel designs, double or triple bracelets and cuff-style interpretations, turning the watch into a true playground for the Maison’s workshops.
