The Story

For several decades, Breitling has stood out with timepieces designed for action and aviation, such as the famous Navitimer or Emergency. In 2016, the brand took a new step with the introduction of the Exospace B55 collection, the first line of connected watches developed in Switzerland and designed for aviation professionals.

With the Exospace, Breitling remained true to its watchmaking DNA: the robust case, the dual analog and digital display, as well as the SuperQuartz™ movement ensure the durability and precision expected from a true “instrument for professionals.” But the collection also introduced an innovative dimension with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the watch to communicate with a smartphone to simplify settings and make the most of its numerous functions.

Released in the Night Mission version, the B55 adopts a more modern and stealthy look with a titanium case coated in black DLC. Combining aeronautical heritage with technological innovation, this piece perfectly illustrates the pioneering spirit of the Exospace collection.

The Night Mission Model

Imposing and decidedly modern, the Exospace B55 Night Mission comes in a 46 mm titanium case with black DLC coating, a material that is both lightweight and extremely robust. Its angular lines, unidirectional ratcheted bezel and matte finish give it a strong presence, faithful to Breitling’s DNA.

The black dial combines analog display with luminescent hands and two backlit LCD screens, providing access to multiple digital functions. Among them are the 1/100th of a second chronograph, countdown timer, dual time zone, alarms, and Bluetooth connectivity, which allows the watch to be controlled and set directly from a smartphone.

Designed for action, the Night Mission combines toughness and comfort thanks to its light weight and its black rubber strap with black DLC titanium deployant clasp, reinforcing its utilitarian character. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides ensures optimal readability even in extreme conditions.

The B55 Caliber: Technical and Connected

The B55 Night Mission is powered by the Breitling B55 caliber, a thermocompensated SuperQuartz™ movement, ten times more accurate than a standard quartz. Specifically developed for Exospace B55 models, it combines high reliability with a wide range of functions designed for aviation professionals and enthusiasts.

This caliber offers a 1/100th of a second chronograph, several split-time counters, a countdown timer, a perpetual calendar, two independent time zones, audible and vibrating alarms, as well as a backlighting system designed for cockpit use.

A true innovation within the Breitling collection, the B55 integrates Bluetooth connectivity with a dedicated mobile app (Android and Apple), allowing the watch to synchronize with a smartphone. This interface simplifies the management of complex functions and facilitates the export of recorded times, making it a thoroughly modern tool serving performance.

Finally, the movement is powered by a rechargeable battery via the supplied magnetic cable, ensuring comfortable autonomy and hassle-free daily use.

Before being offered for sale, it was entrusted to our watchmakers at the Lepage workshop. All its functions were carefully tested, and a full cleaning of the case and bracelet was carried out to restore its original shine.
