The Story

In 2007, Grand Seiko took another step forward by presenting its first Spring Drive chronograph. More than a simple complication, it embodied the brand’s ambition to integrate high-performance sports functions into an exceptional timepiece. The 9R86 caliber powering it combines a column wheel, vertical clutch, three-register chronograph, and GMT function, all with the fluidity characteristic of Spring Drive.

The SBGC203 is the direct heir to this first model. With its assertive steel case, highly legible black dial, and oversized pushers, it symbolizes the boldest side of Grand Seiko: a sporty, robust, and technical watch, always guided by the brand’s pursuit of harmony and perfection.

The Model

The SBGC203 makes an immediate impression with its assertive dimensions: a stainless steel case measuring 43.5 mm in diameter and 16.1 mm thick, leaving no doubt about its identity as a sports chronograph. Behind this robustness, however, Grand Seiko showcases all of its finishing expertise, notably through the famous Zaratsu polishing, which creates surfaces of unmatched purity and sharpness. Each facet reflects light without distortion, creating a striking contrast between satin-brushed areas and mirror-polished planes — a feat rarely equaled in this category.

The Package

This Grand Seiko Sport Spring Drive Chronograph SBGC203 is a “new” piece, purchased in August 2025. It will be delivered Full Set, with its original box, manual, and international warranty card.

Before being offered for sale, it was entrusted to our watchmakers at the Lepage workshop, where it underwent a full inspection to ensure its flawless condition.
