This golden C18 from LIP is an elegant and refined little square watch. Its size and design make it a vintage-inspired watch that will fit on any wrist, with a Swiss Ronda 763 quartz movement at its heart.
A French history
Production of the Type 18 caliber begins in 1935, just before the 39-45 war. During this conflict, the company moves to central France, then south to Valence. At the end of the war, LIP returned to Besançon and rebuilt its factory. The "T18" emerged from the workshops. A highly modern caliber with a small seconds counter, an all-gold model was presented to Sir Winston Churchill in 1948.
The T18 would come in several sizes and versions. But the C18 is a true "Bêtise de Cambrai" from LIP! In fact, the C18 was born of a designer error and corresponds to a squared-off T18 case. It retains the famous "Churchill" dial and its characteristic horizontal/vertical double sunburst, as well as the faceted hands that make its predecessor so charming.
An elegant little watch
This Churchill C18 model has a vintage charm that's still relevant today, with a square gold case 21 mm wide and 21 mm high. This watch features a silver dial. Finally, this watch is dressed in a brown cowhide leather strap.
